Alongside co-panelists, Chiann Bao will take part to a panel discussion organized under the aegis of the SIAC and the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore (NUS), as part of the 2025 SIAC-CIL Academic Practitioner Colloquium.
The seminar provides academics and arbitration practitioners with a platform to showcase their current research work, and to test their ideas on a panel of fellow arbitration practitioners and academics. The discussion will draw on the paper of Dr Tobias Traxler (Postdoctoral Fellow, NUS, CIL) "Counsel, Valuation, and Experts in Investment Treaty Arbitration", and will delve into the complex exercice of damages valuation in investment treaty arbitration, and the role counsels and experts play in assessing quantum-related issues in investment treaty proceedings.
