Emily Hay moderated a panel discussion titled "The Future of Arbitral Hearings: Technology and Procedural Innovation" at the 41st Annual Joint SIA-ICC Institute Symposium. The event was hosted by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London and took place at the London offices of Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer.

The panel featured Alejandro Escobar, Luis González García, and Hilde van der Baan in a wide-ranging conversation about how arbitral hearings are likely to develop in the years ahead. Topics covered included procedural innovation, the design of hearings by 2030, the ongoing debate surrounding remote, hybrid, and in-person formats, and the increasingly prominent role of artificial intelligence in hearing preparation and advocacy.
