Chiann Bao delivered the XVII Hugo Grotius International Lecture in Madrid, presenting on "Safeguarding Legitimacy: The Case for a Systemic Arbitral Ethics Framework".
The lecture was hosted by CIAMEN – Real Instituto de Estudios Europeos at the Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación de España. The annual series brings together prominent figures in international arbitration to engage with issues of particular relevance to contemporary practice. This year's edition centred on the legitimacy and integrity of the arbitral process, with Chiann making the case for a more comprehensive and systemic approach to arbitral ethics.
