Jean Chai holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and the University of Geneva, and an LL.B. (Hons.) from the National University of Singapore.
Jean has assisted in arbitration proceedings across multiple jurisdictions under the ICC, SIAC, VIAC, HKIAC, LCIA, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules, with experience spanning the energy, construction, oil and gas, blockchain and cryptocurrency, automotive, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.
She has trained in witness examination in international arbitration with the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy (FIAA) and completed tribunal secretary training with the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA).
Alongside her arbitration practice, Jean has experience in international mediation, having served as a Young IP Mediator under the IPOS-WIPO ASEAN Mediation Programme and assisted in proceedings before the Singapore International Mediation Centre.
Jean has assisted in international commercial and investment arbitrations, both ad hoc and under various institutional rules (ICC, SIAC, VIAC, HKIAC, LCIA, ICSID and UNCITRAL). Her experience includes matters in the energy, construction, oil and gas, blockchain and cryptocurrency, automotive, telecommunications, F&B, intellectual property and financial services sectors.
